Title Bitmain Data Center Technician II

Reports To Data Center Manager/Bitmain

The Job

We're looking for an experienced Technician who is responsible for completing preventative maintenance checks throughout the data center (cleaning, basic troubleshooting, inspection) on all Bitmain-owned machines. Once unit(s) are identified as unrepairable, the tech will register a repair ticket in the repair queue and arrange shipping to Bitmain for repairs. Technicians are responsible for addressing units that have been placed in the repair queue, diagnosing the unit, and putting the unit in the appropriate status (Repair Complete, In-Repair, etc.). Technicians are responsible for bench testing units that have been resolved to ensure the unit is fixed. Technicians will oversee all Bitmain-owned machines and report daily directly to Bitmain on the status of their machines and mining operations.

Responsibilities

Maintenance of Bitmain-owned data center equipment.

Run cables: copper, fiber.

Equipment racking: PDU (including temp/humid sensors), network gear, servers.

Proactive monitoring of all production systems, including remote hands support when required.

Creation and maintenance of a cohesive and accurate data center hardware map, including asset management for all ancillary hardware.

Coordinate repairs to Bitmain repair center, including all shipping and tracking information.

Attend Bitmain meetings.

Provide first level troubleshooting and support for client servers and network devices, as well as correction and routing/escalation when situations require.

Maintenance of company databases with accurate/current information.

Processing of all Bitmain hardware RMA's.

Work with corporate ticketing system.

Maintenance of documentation.

Following all stated policies and procedures.

Keeping the data center and repair center clean and organized.

Ensure all tools, workstations, and laptops are kept in order and neat.

Help with the deployment of Bitmain machines. (Unboxing, racking, etc.)

Responsible for contributing to and maintaining technical process documentation for Bitmain-owned machines and equipment.

Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.

Qualifications

Provide first level troubleshooting and support services for Bitmain-owned machines.

Equipment racking & Cabling: PDU's, network gear, miners, etc.

Keep the data center and repair center clean and organized.

Help with the deployment of Bitmain-owned machines. (Unboxing, racking etc.)

Obtain BitMain Ant Training Academy certification within 6 months.

Diagnoses hardware failures; determines corrective action with minimal supervision.

Utilizes Minder and is able to navigate data center structure and layout.

1 year of service as a Data Center Technician I position (exceptions must be approved by VP).

Strong written and verbal communication required.

Travel

Minimal travel between data centers.

Work Environment

This job operates in a data center environment. This role routinely uses standard data center equipment such as laptop computers, smartphones, voltmeters, hash board testers, soldering iron, screwdrivers, etc.

Physical Demands

Able to meet physical requirements of the job, such as working on ladders, racking heavy servers (up to 50 lbs.), running cables, lifting miners, bending, reaching, standing for long periods of time, working in hot and cold environments, etc.

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. General hours and days of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. some nights and weekends.
