The Role
Palantir works with some of the world's largest institutions, and rapport with our customers' IT departments is vital to our shared success. We are looking for a technically savvy, outcome driven individual to develop relationships with technical counterparts at our customer organizations.
As a Forward Deployed Architect, you will own relationships with our technical counterparts and serve as an interface between Palantir deployment teams and customer IT organizations. Alongside Palantir's technical leads, you will guide teams to operate safely in customer environments, design sustainable engagements, and act as a thought partner. You'll also help set the strategic direction for our customer engagements and participate in technical outreach meetings. We're looking for team members with varied backgrounds, including having worked as a CTO, a Big Data Department Lead, or a Solution Architect for cloud or distributed system environments.
Success in this role requires becoming technically proficient in Palantir's products, understanding our customers' governance processes, and demonstrating how we'll align with them. You'll operate independently but with a team-first approach as you navigate relationships to lead our deployment teams to success.
What We Value Prior experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and SOLRES
Hands-on knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, and Javascript
Strong client interaction skills
Ability to handle complexity, including the ability to communicate and align with various customer IT departments in order to support our teams in their operation on the ground
Ability and willingness to pick up new concepts quickly

Salary
The starting salary for this position is estimated to be $120,000/year. Total compensation includes approximately $30,000/year of equity compensation in the form of Restricted Stock Units, based on the recent value of the company's stock at the time of grant. Further note that total compensation for this position will be determined by candidate's relevant qualifications, work experience, skills, and other factors. This estimate excludes the value of any potential sign-on bonus; the value of any benefits offered; and the potential future value of any long-term incentives.
