Title Hardware Repair Technician I

Reports To Repair Center Manager

The Job

We're looking for a highly motivated Hardware Repair Technician I responsible for repairing Core's and client's equipment. The Tech will be responsible for completing repairs that is listed on a repair ticket and closing out the repair ticket once the equipment is operational. Responsible for pulling the repair ticket, signing out parts, and repairing the unit. Bench test or test in the field and update repair ticket with complete “UP” status. When no repairs are in the queue, the Repair Technician assists the DCTs on preventative maintenance priorities for Core's and client's equipment. When there are other projects, such as deployments or decommissions, the Hardware Repair Technician assists with these projects.

Responsibilities

  • Follows Bitmain repair procedures
  • Diagnoses equipment; replaces/repairs parts
  • Services, tests, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment
  • Conducts tests on digital and analog circuits
  • Implementing trials for miner performance (test and tune)
  • Repair of Core's and client's miners (components, chip level, and firmware)
  • Maintenance of data center equipment for Core's and client's
  • Proactive monitoring of all production systems, including remote hands support when required

  • SD flashing problematic units, or test a fix
  • Creation and maintenance of cohesive and accurate data center hardware map, including asset management for all ancillary hardware
  • Maintenance of company databases with accurate/current information.
  • Work with corporate ticketing system
  • Following all stated policies and procedures
  • Keeping the repair center clean and organized
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science preferred
  • 2+ years' experience Electrical Journeyman preferred
  • 2+ years' experience in IT/PC level help desk preferred
  • Must obtain BitMain Ant Training Academy certification within 6 months
  • Willingness and ability to follow guidance from other staff members as well as management
  • Positive and professional attitude at all times, with a very high attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Attend any other required training
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screening
  • Work Environment

    This job operates in a data center environment. This role routinely uses standard data center equipment such as laptop computers, smartphones, voltmeter's, hash board testers, soldering iron, screwdrivers etc.

    Physical Demands

    Able to meet physical requirements of the job, such as working on ladders, racking heavy servers (up to 50 lbs.), running cables, lifting miners, bending, reaching, standing for long periods of time, working in hot and cold environments etc.

    Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. General hours and days of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

    Travel

    Occasional travel between data centers.
