What does it take?
Manage global transaction tax compliance process.
Assist in Avalara system implementations and upgrades.
Analyze sales and use tax activity for reasonableness; prepare related month-end journal entries.
Assist in responding to tax audit IDR requests.
Point of contact for business partner inquiries from Sales and AR/AP departments.
Provide training to other departments on indirect tax matters.
Conduct tax research as necessary to respond to tax business partner, customer, or audit inquiries.
Monthly sales tax reconciliations.
Product Code alignment with Avalara Code maintenance.
Filing of monthly sales/use tax returns.
SOS/Business License renewals.
SOS registrations, new Business License applications.
Property Tax compliance.
Work with outside tax service providers located around the globe in varying time zones.
Approve all non-US transaction tax returns.
Other special projects as they arise.
Is this You?
12+ years of experience working with the corporate indirect tax department.
BS in Accounting or Finance.
Working knowledge of Avalara or similar transaction tax software.
Demonstrated technical strength and knowledge related to indirect tax and accounting.
Self-starter with strong accounting, analytical, creative problem-solving, and project management skills.
Ability to recognize, understand, and analyze complex issues.
Strong social skills and ability to communicate effectively with other departments.
Must be well-organized, hands-on, and detail-oriented.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient computer skills including strong working knowledge of Excel and Netsuite/Oracle systems.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
