We are transforming and accelerating clinical trials, to help get life-saving treatments to patients faster and accelerate innovation in healthcare. To that end, we build a cutting-edge software suite that connects all clinical research stakeholders, from research teams to treating physicians, patients, and study sponsors on a real-time, real-world data SaaS platform, powered by AI.
We are seeking an intern to join our Comprehension team as a Machine Learning Engineer. An internship at Deep6 offers impactful, project-based work in a collaborative and innovative environment where you'll be given the opportunity to deliver meaningful improvements to the Deep6 application. As a member of the Comprehension team, you'll be given access to one of the largest sources of unstructured clinical data and provided the opportunity to extract meaningful insights that support our goals of continuously enriching the user experience and improving the precision of our matches.
What You'll Do: Extract & derive the searchable clinical information and representations that support the product
Generate benchmark datasets for a collection of NLP annotation tasks
Develop and/or train models for a collection of NLP annotation tasks
Develop automation for improving the observability and monitoring of deployed models
Develop automation for tuning and re-training of models
Contribute to refinement, enhancement, and deployment of ETL pipelines serving to provide data to Deep6's application
Fully remote accessible
Competitive pay ($16.00/hr. - $18.00/hr. depending on experience)

Must be 18 years old at start of internship
Must be authorized to work in the US
Must be a graduate student or a rising senior undergraduate student
Ideal candidates possess a background in at least 1 of: Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computational Linguistics, Information Retrieval, Bioinformatics
Must have 8-10 weeks available between the beginning of June and the end of August 2023
Must be available to work 30 hours/week during the entirety of the program
Experience in Python
Experience in at least 1 JVM language (java, kotlin, scala) a plus
Experience in Natural Language Processing, Object-Oriented Programming, and Software Development Lifecycle
$16 - $18 an hour
