What will you be doing at DeepL?

As Software Engineer in Test (Web) in the Core Platform track at DeepL, you will be involved in all stages of development of new and existing services, apps and features. Your main task will be to establish, monitor and maintain automated testing of web frontend solutions, focused mainly on component testing. We will count on you to advise on and design testing strategies and to compile and report results in an automated manner. You will be a regular member of the Core Platform engineering team. Core Platform's mission is to create shared building blocks critical for the enablement of user-facing services and products.


Your Responsibilities

  • Design, create, monitor and maintain automated tests across a wide range of frontend solutions
  • Maintain existing testbase, extend and document it
  • Understand the needs of a product to advise on and design testing strategies
  • Report real-time test results
  • Help improve our CI/CD pipelines
  • Create bug report tickets (JIRA)
  • Being part of a cross-functional engineering team, and communicating with developers and product managers on development and QA matters
  • Cooperating with other QA engineers, including discussion on workflow improvements & QA-related themes

  • You are a software developer with interest and experience in software testing

  • You have professional experience in frontend development (JavaScript / TypeScript)
  • You have experience with unit test frameworks and can work on creating automated unit test cases for use in regression tests
  • You know the ins and outs of testing strategies and can advise teams on the most efficient testing methods
  • You have an eye for detail and can think of cases regular developers don't pay enough attention to
  • Comfortable with using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Git/Gitlab, Browserstack etc.
