POSITION SUMMARY
Veritone, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to assist with the essential
accounting transactions for our talent agency, Table Rock. This position will
work with the Table Rock staff and Corporate/Veritone One Accounting
departments in our Remote First environment to manage revenue recognition,
month-end close processes, and client accounts. Candidates for this role must
have the ability to engage with other parts of the business and think
critically about the impact of the transactions from both an accounting and
business perspective.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Have an integral part in the revenue recognition process for our talent
agency including generation of client invoices, credit memos, and
statements
Manage AR tasks including client onboarding, communicating with brands,
responding to all invoice/payment inquiries, processing incoming client
payments
Assist with collection efforts of all clients, including attendance in
aging meetings
Manage AP tasks including vendor onboarding, influencer payments, and
maintaining Routable records
Involvement with the monthly close process, including maintaining the
general ledger, accruals, and prepaids
Prepare month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and
supporting schedules
Assist in drafting financial statement packages to help Corporate with
consolidated financials
Interact with other departments, including Account Managers, regarding
client accounts to determine treatment of transactions
Complete bank reconciliations, identifying issues and ensuring they are
mitigated
Communicate with Table Rock staff on status of client/vendor transactions
Coordinate with Veritone One staff on payments and discrepancies
Provide supporting documents and assistance with requests for annual and
quarterly financial statement audits
Proactively seek out process improvements, make recommendations for those
improvements, and implement approved changes
Assist in documenting and updating policies and procedures
Adhere to procedural workflows and proper financial controls within a SOX
compliant environment
Assist with implementing system improvements (QuickBooks, Routable,
Salesforce) and migration to new ERP, Oracle
Attend various meetings as needed
Other duties and projects as assigned by VP, Controller
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
High school diploma or GED
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 4-5 years of accounting/finance experience
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Experience with accounting software
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with MS Excel
Highly detail-oriented in a high volume, dynamic environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Positive attitude with an ability to work independently and within a team
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across various departments
Excellent organizational skills and a solution driven approach to problems
to add value and create efficiencies
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
BONUS POINTS IF
CPA (active or inactive)
Mix of public accounting and private industry experience
Prior experience in a SOX environment
Prior experience with large ERP systems, Oracle or Workday preferred
Previous advertising or talent agency experience
